Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of carbamazepine and topiramate in the treatment of grand mal epilepsy. Methods 46 patients' s data were selected randomly, which were treated in clinic service and hospitalization in Cangxi people' s hospital from October 2001 to October 2006. We divided them into two groups. One group was treated with carbamazepine which has 24 cases and the other group was treated with topiramate which has 22 cases. Then we will compare the clinical efficacy between two groups. Results The efficacy of the two groups were no significant difference(P0.05). Conclusion Carbamazepine and topiramate have the certain clinical efficacy in the treatment of grand mal epilepsy and there is no significant difference.
