Abstract

Objective: The pathogenesis.methods of operation and function exercise of gluteal muscles contracture associated with unequal leg length were investigated in this article. Methods:Of all 1280 cases of gluteal muscles contracture,212 cases were associated with unequal leg length because of pelvic imbalance.Once the diagnosis was made,a “Z-shaped” release lengthening operation was done, accompained by postoperative skin traction and elevate pelvis exercise. Results:The follow up period ranged from 3 months ~2 years.206 cases excellent and good rate were 100% and the cure rate was 99.3%。Conclusion:When the diagnosis was made this procedure not only improve the function of the hip,but also recover the length of the leg because of correction of pelvis imbalance. The authors believe that it is worthy of recommendation.
