Abstract

A monomer of polyimide 2,2′-bis[4-(3-aminophenoxy)phenyl]propane was prepared from m-dinitrobenzene and bisphenol A through condensation reaction and hydrazine hydrate reduction with an overall yield of 85.5%.The purity of the product was 99.97% as measured by HPLC area normalization method. The structure of the product was characterized by elemental analysis and FT IR spectroscopy.
