Abstract
2,2-Bis(3-amido-4-hydroxyphenyl)-propane was synthesized by catalytic reduction of 2,2-Bis(4-hydroxy-3-nitrophenyl)-propane(1) with hydrazine hydrate in the presence of Pd/C,FeOOH and FeCl_3.6H_2O/C respectively. The results showed that the ideal catalyst was FeCl_3.6H_2O/C which gave high yield and had low cost. The yield was 93% when n (hydrazine hydrate):n(1)=5:1,temperature 70?℃, and reaction time 80?min. The structure of the product, which was crystallized, was certified by elementary analysis, IR,~1HNMR,~(13)CNMR and MS.
