Abstract
Objective To investigatr the BMD and the incidence of osreoporosis (OP) in Lanzhou area and provide scientific basis for diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis. Methods 1212 cases aged 20-85 were obtained from healthy adults in Lanzhu area.their BMDof L 1-4 and upper femur (Neck Ward's Troch)were measured by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry(DEXA). Then was analyzed by 10 years a group of male and female respectively. Results The peak of males and females was found in age group of 30-39 and BMD decreased with age during 50-59 yeaysof age,the BMD of females dropped obviously. After the age of 50, the incidence of osteoporosis in Ward's area was 12.1% in men,and 46.7% in women. Conclusion BMD decreases with dge,and the incidence of osteoporosis increases with age. The incidence of osteoporosis in females is higher than that in males.
