Understanding for Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome(ARDS) Is Just Unfolding

Acute respiratory distress syndrome is a clinical syndrome characterized by inflammatory pulmonary edema,severe hypoxemia,stiff lungs,and diffuse endothelial and epithelial injury.In the passing 50 years ,especially since the global outbreaks of severe acute respiratory syndrome in 2003,there have been major advances in understanding of the etiology,physiology,histology and management.Although remarkable increases in research focused on ARDS, there are many important problems left to be solved urgently.
