National Defense Education Should be Strengthened in General Higher Education

Since 1985,China's national defense education has run on trial in some colleges and universities.It obtains certain success after 20 years of practice,but there is still much issue worth exploring and studying.National defense education is an important part of higher education,and good implementation of that is propitious to the college personnel training,quality training and ideological consciousness raising.The college students,as a vibrant driving force of the development of the Party and the people,which are the national defense reserve personnel,must own the correct consciousness of national defense,and should consciously concerned about it.They also should actively perform the defense duties and strive to contribute their own wisdom and strength for the national defense and the military modernization.So strengthening the national defense education is of great significance for the cultivation of college students.This article describe the current status of the international situation and the surrounding environment of China from the view of international environment,and also illustrate the necessity of national defense education.At the same time,we compared the status of national defense education at home and abroad,and explore the means and methods to strengthen the national defense education of the college students.
