In this paper taking the shanxi province as an example,the city is divided into units.Select nineteen indicators of economic system and population system,with the help of statistical software SPSS,using factor analysis method to analysis for the coordination of population and economic development,according to calculations of municipal socio-economic and population composite score,then analysis municipal lever of economic development and population development coordination degree.AS a basis to determine their population development strategies and achieve the purpose of the policy guidance
