Abstract
Nowadays limestone power is applied widely to cement and concrete, but there is still a debate about the active reaction in hydration products produced by limestone power.Experimental investigation about this effect was conducted through comparison tests, the first group adding 30% limestone powder and the second group without limestone powder.Analysis about the products' microstructure was realized based on The Standard Electronic Modules(SEM),Energy Dispersive Spectrometer(EDS)and X-ray diffraction(XRD).Investigation results showed that through adding limestone power, the hydration reaction of C3 S is accelerated and calcium carboaluminate hydrate is formed from C3 A.Besides, the existence of limestone power could prevent the transformation of ettringite to mono-sulphuralnminate calcium hydrate.
