Abstract
Based on the building of an indicator system and coordination index model relating to population structure and economic development, the principal component analysis is used to examine the level of population-and-economy development in Shaanxi Province, and then the coordination model is used to study the province's coordination of population structure and economic development in 1990-2010.The results show that:in 1990-2002,C(P/E) was greater than C(E/P)——economic development blocked the benign development of population structure;but it was just opposite in 2003-2010.In general, the coordination of population structure and economic development in Shaanxi during 1990-2010 was at primary and moderate degrees.
