Measurement and Evaluation on the Coordination of Regional Population and Economy——A Case Study of Guizhou Province

The study of the coordinated development of regional population and economy is not only one of hotpots in human geography,but also an important part in the study of urban sustainable development.This paper,with Guizhou Province as a case study,establishes the index system of population and economic development.Then,with principal component analysis method and coupling model,it presents an analysis of the comprehensive development and coordination of population and economy in Guizhou from 2000 to 2011.The results of the study are as follows:from 2000 to 2011,the system of population and economy was basically in synchronous growth;the rate of economic system growth was greater than that of population system;except that the system of population and system was in the mild maladjustment from 2000 to 2003,the system in other years was in the state of harmony,developing from approximate coordination to sound coordination.
