Abstract
Objective To understand the current status of the health care services for urban and rural residents in Hebei province,and provide scientific basis for decision-making in implementing the basic health services for everyone. Method A multi-stage stratified sampling method was employed to determine the samples. The investigators were trained uniformly. Face-to-face questionnaire survey was conducted according to unified methods and standard. Results Totally 4 200 residents were surveyed, only 11.6% residents received health examination in the last five years. The health examination rate was 26.6% in urban area and 5.2% in rural area (P0.01), increased with education level, and was highest in the people with educational level of college or above (60.3%). The health examination rate in people engaged in agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, water conservancy industry was very low (4.2%), and was 13.3% in males, 10.5% in females (P0.01). Conclusion The health examination rate was low in urban and rural residents in Hebei, and their awareness of self-protection was also poor. The health examination rate among the residents varied by age, education level, occupation and gender.
