Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of RANTES and IL-5 in nasal polyp tissues.Methods The expression of RANTES,IL-5 and infiltration of eosinophil was detected by HE-staining,immunohistochemistry and image analysis method in 54 specimens of nasal polyp and 40 specimens of nasal concha mucosa(NCM).Results The positive rate with eosinophilic infiltration in nasal polyp group was significantly higher than that in NCM group(P0.05).The cell density with expression of RANTES and IL-5 in nasal polyp group was obviously higher than that in NCM group(P0.05).The expression levels of IL-5 and RANTES in nasal polyp were positively correlated with the degree of eosinophilic infiltration respectively(P0.05).Conclusion The expression of IL-5 and RANTES is positively correlated with the infiltration of eosinophil in nasal polyp,which may play an important role in the formation of nasal poly.
