Abstract
A finite difference software(FLAC3D) was used to carry on numerical simulation of reinforced retaining wall, and the calculated results shows well accordance with the observed data. This shows the effectiveness of the stress deformation law for forecasting the reinforced retaining wall by method mentioned in this article.Calculation and analysis are carried out for soft soil foundation which use geogrid and the other not,and through comparison of the foundation settlement, horizontal displacement and internal stress,it can be concluded that geogrid can effectively reduce the settlement of soil foundation and restrict lateral deformation of the foundation, and disperse the centralized stress. So geogrid is a good material to treat soft soil foundation.
