Abstract

Objective Discussing the practical value of Mydrin-P on dispersing pupil and optometry of children.Method 180 cases of the children patient suffering from abnormal phototropism are divided, based on their ages, into two groups 4 to 7 years old and 8 to 12 years old. First of all, they are treated with Mydrin-P to disperse pupil, and then they are tested for optometry by computer with TOPCON-7100 unit. After that, the liquid eyes medicine called ArTroPine, (1 %) is applied to their eyes twice a day for three days in succession. And then they are tested for optometry with the same computer optometry unit. A contrast is made for analysis of the phototropism changes. Results After dispersing pupil by Mydrin-P, the average of ball lens and equivalent average of ball lens are considerably different from that made by ArTroPine,(P0.05) , the average of column lens and that of axis are similar to that of ArTroPine,(P0.05).Conclusion For phototropism test of the children under 12, Mydrin-P can not replace ArTriopine , but can be used for the children's test of astigmatism, and it can play an active role in screening out and preventing the amblyopia.
