Abstract

【Objective】To explore the practical value of Mydrin-p in children with myopia.【Methods】Fifty four children with myopia were under the age of 12.First,Mydrin-p was used to disperse pupil, and optometry by computer with TOPCON MR-8800 unit was performed. After that, atropine gutta(1%) was applied three times daily for three days in succession, then optometry was conducted by the same computer. The changes of diopter were analyzed and compared.【Results】There was significant difference between Mydrin-p and atropine gutta in means of the spherical lens, but no difference in the mean of column lens and that of axis after mydriasis.【Conclusion】Mydrin-p can't replace atropine in optometry during children under the age of 12,but it can play an energetic role in the test of astigmatism, screening and preventing of amblyopia.
