Abstract

Soil fauna animal communities were investigated in this study by means of the methods of modified tullgren and hand sorting in three different artificial vegetations in Fangshan Ecological Park of Nanjing during August to October in 2007. A total of 1741 individuals were collected, belonging to 25 groups, 9 classes, 3 phyla. The composition of groups, distribution, the number of individuals and diversity index of soil fauna were analyzed. The results showed Acarina, Collembola and Enchytraeidae were the dominant communities, and Isopoda, Nematoda, Diptera, Oligochaela were the common community in the year round. Among the 3 types of artificial vegetations, the total number of the individuals and group of soil fauna were in order of tea garden mixed forest farmland. The soil fauna diversity in different months and different artificial vegetations were different. The diversity index and the richness index of tea garden were the greatest in different months. The evenness index of tea garden was the greatest in August, while that of farmland was the greatest in October. But the richness index, diversity index and the evenness index of the three artificial vegetations were not significant different. The numbers of groups in soil decreased rapidly with the increase of the depth of soil layer.
