Abstract
143 progeny test stands of excellent families from seedling seed orchard of Pinus massoniana in western Fujian were investigated and analyzed. The result showed there was great significant difference between families in seed yield.Through multiple range analysis,42 most excellent families that have significant difference compared with the seed yield of seed orchard in Wuyi Forest Farm of Zhangping, were selected.By further comparison the results showed 26 excellent families were selected with high yield and rapid growth. These families had 40.41% average genetic gain in seed yield and 26.36% average genetic gain in volume. The 26 families could be the best materials for establishing next generation seed orchard of Pinus massoniana.
