Abstract

Cultivating creative talents is not only an urgent need to build a creation-oriented country in this new era,but also a need to reform and develop higher education institutions.This paper discusses the meaning of creative English talents,proves that cultivating creative English talents is the talent-cultivating objective of English major in the new era.On the basis of that,this paper reconstructs the orientation and functions of Basic English course,from which some reform ideas and measures are put forward.
