Abstract

Objective To study the relationship of hyperuricemia with insulin resistance, dyslipidemia, and hypertension in T2DM patients. Methods The 866 T2DM patients were divided into the high uric acid(A) group(serum uric acid ≥ 420 μmol/L in male and ≥ 360 μmol/L in female) and the normal uric acid(B) group.Renal function, lipids, and insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR) were compared between the two groups. Results The prevalence of hyperuricemia was 15.5% in T2DM patients.BMI,SBP,TG,TC,very low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(VLDL-C),Scr,HOMA-IR,albumin to creatinine ratio, and atherosclerosis index were all higher in the hyperuricemia group than in NUA group, while the glomerular filtration rate(eGFR) and ISI were higher in the NUC group than in HUA group(P0.05).The result showed that the uric acid was correlated with lipids, insulin resistance, and renal function in normal renal function individuals. Conclusion Hyperuricemia is correlated with dyslipidemia, insulin resistance, obesity, and hypertension in T2DM patients.
