Abstract
OBJECTIVE To understand the popularity rate and quality of iodized salt in residents in Chongqing, and to consolidate the achievement of the elimination of iodine deficiency disorders(IDD) in Chongqing. METHODS In accordance with the national iodine deficiency disorders monitoring program, monitored all counties, extract five townships in each district in the north, south, east and west areas, four villages of each township, 15 residents of each village, the iodized salt content were measured with the direct titration. RESULTS The city monitored a total of 190 towns, 11 556 copies(iodized salt 11 515, qualified iodized salt 11 062, non-iodized salt 41). The median of Iodized salt was 27.8mg / kg. The coverage of iodized salt, pass rate of iodized salt, the qualified rate of iodized salt, non-iodized salt were 99.60%, 96.24%, 95.87%,0.40%. CONCLUSION The iodized salt in Chongqing maintains in line with national requirements(iodized salt coverage, the qualified rate of iodized salt, qualified edible rate of iodized salt must be ﹥ 90%), but there are non-qualified iodized and non-iodized salt.
