Abstract

Objective:To investigate the inhibition mechanism of sodium selenite on SW-111C cells. Methods: The apoptosis of SW-111C cells treated with sodium selenite was observed by TUNEL.The expression of p16,p21,PCNA,CD44 treated with sodium selenite was performed by immunohistochemistry technique. The T-lymphocyte subsets were detected by animal experiment. Results: The apoptotic index of SW-111C cells increased and was positively correlated to the concentration of sodium selenite(P0.01).The expression of p16 and p21 was up-regulated and the expression of PCNA and CD44 was down regulated after treated by sodium selenite. After exposure to sodium selenite, the number of CD3+ and CD4+ cells in mice increased and CD4+/CD8+ increased too(P0.05). Conclusion: The sodium selenite could inhibit the proliferation of SW-111C cells by inducing cell apoptosis, and influence the expression of p16,p21,PCNA,CD44 with improving immune function.
