Abstract

【Objective】 To evaluate the feasibility and availability of minimal invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy(MPCNL) under the guide of ultrasound on multiple renal calculi.【Methods】 We retrospectively investigated 20 patients suffering from multiple renal calculi who were treated by MPCNL.Of these 20 cases, staghorn calculi were found in 16.All of the 20 cases treated by MPCNL with local anesthesia under the guide of ultrasound.【Results】 Among 20 cases,5 cases were stone free after one stage MPCNL,5 cases stone free after two stage MPCNL,6 cases stone free after three stage MPCNL,2 cases stone free treated by ESWL 1 month after MPCNL.The total stone free rate was 90%.The operative duration was 170 min(100~270 min).No severe complications were observed.【Conclusions】 MPCNL offers advantages with respect to easy operation, less invasion, less complications, easy recover, high stone free rate.It is a good minimally invasive way in treatment of complicated renal calculi.
