Abstract

As one of the Southern Society leaders,CHEN Qu-bing had a large social circle,and was on specially good terms with XU Zi-hua,a Society member.They got acquainted because of QIU Jin Incident and founded the Society.Qiu's spirit served as a bond between the two,and was further developed and extended in their following joint activities.Their political activities reached the summit around the 1911 Revolution.Besides close personal contacts,they also enjoyed an intimate relationship of political comrades and literature friends.Their communications during the 1911 Revolution provided a new perspective to inspect the Southern Society activities against the general revolutionary background.
