Clinical Observation of "Naogengtong Decoction" in Treating Ischemic Stroke of Qi-Deficiency and Blood-Stasis

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Naogengtong Decoction in the treatment of ischemic stroke of qi-deficiency and blood-stasis. Methods 160 subjects were randomized into two groups: control group in which 80 cases were treated by routine therapy and treatment group in which 80 cases were treated by routine therapy and Naogengtong Decoction. Four weeks later, the clinical efficacy, neurological deficit score and activities of daily living were observed. Results The total effective rate was 91.25% in treatment group and 76.25% in control group(P 0.01); the neurological deficit score and activities of daily living improved obviously after treatment in both groups(P 0.01), with more significant improvement in treatment group than in control group(P 0.05). Conclusion Naogengtong Decoction is quite effective for ischemic stroke of qi-deficiency and blood-stasis.
