Diagnostic value of 64-detector spiral CT angiography for dissecting aneurysm of aorta

Objective:To evaluate clinical application value of 64-detector spiral CT angiography for dissecting aneurysm of aorta.Methods:11 cases was studied with 64-detector spiral CT.There were 8 man and 3 women,with the mean age of 51.6 years.The volume data was transferred to AW4.2 workstation for imaging post-processing including VR,MIP,MPR.Results:①The time of 64-detector spiral CT scan was 7～10s;②Three patients with De BackeyⅠ type aortic dissection,Eight patients with De Backey Ⅲ aortic dissection;③The whole aorta and principal branches of 11 patients were demonstrated well by 64-detector spiral CT angiography;④The true lumen,false lumen,intimal flap,location and extend of dissecting aneurysm were showed in all patients satisfactorily;⑤Three patients with superior mesenteric artery stenosis,two patients with superior mesenteric artery dissection,five patients with renal artery stenosis;⑥One patient after endovascular stent placement,no endoleakage appear,location of endovascular stent was normal.Conclusion:64-detector spiral CT angiography can display clearly dissecting aneurysm of aorta.It may supply valuable information for the diagnosis of the dissecting aneurysm of aorta and especially for surgical operation.
