Abstract
The special expressions for the elders in the epitaph of Tang Dynasty had come from the classic works,Book of Rites and Analects in particular.This reflected the pension system and the tradition of respect to the elders.Compared with the general words expressing age,these expressions are characterized with the profound social culture and sharp color of respect.
