Abstract

The main bridge of Anqing Changjiang River Railway Bridge is a six-span continuous steel truss girder cable-stayed bridge with a main span 580 m.The main truss of the bridge was arranged in N-shape and in the steel truss girder,a new type of the bolted and welded cable-to-truss anchorage structure was applied and the stay cables were bolted and anchored at the tops of the upper chords. To study the stress distribution of the anchorage, the finite element program ANSYS was used to build up the local models for the anchorage of the side and middle trusses and to carry out the corresponding analysis. The results of the analysis demonstrate that the stress of all plates of the structure are within the allowable ranges as specified in the codes, the force transferring paths are clear and the degree of stress concentration is little.
