Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of 1% bifonazole cream for the treatment of Malassezia folliculitis.Methods 80 patients of Malassezia foliculitis were divided into two groups.Treatment with 1% bifonazole cream or 2% ketoconazole lotion was applied once-daily to the affected area for 3 weeks.Efficacy assessment based on symptom/sign reducing index(SSRI).Result The clinical efficacy of the treatment group was better than that of control(P0.05).There was no significant difference in fungus clearance rate between the two groups.No systemic side effects were found.Conclusion Topical use of 1% bifonazole cream is safe and effective for the treatment of Malassezia folliculitis.
