Abstract
Microwave sintering is a new and highly active kind of singtering technology which is superior to the technology of traditional sintering. With highly pure A1N powders and without singtering additives,AIN transparent ceramics were obtained by using microwave sintering at 1700℃for 2h.The result of experiments indicates that the A1N transparent ceramics prepared by this process have fine grain sizes(less than 10μm),uniform grain distribution, and no oxidized phrases. From above analysis,it is proved that A1N transparent ceramics can be sintered at low temperature by the microwave sintering technology.
