An Analysis to the Theory of Human Nature of Confucianism of Pre-Qin

Abstract

Though Confucius had a statement that all men' nature were alike but their customs were different,it is not a theory of human nature,but only an educational observation to his students.His thought was accepted by DaXue(Great Learning) and Zhongyong,but the latter became more abstract.Mencius and Xuncius developed their theories to an absolute situation.And lead to a paradox.Understandings about theory of human nature are connected with the relations between benevolence and proprieties.Understanding this can help us to build our harmonious society.
