Abstract

Objective To analyze the relationship between the expression of FAT10 mRNA and the character of clinical pathology in gastric cancer. Methods FAT10 mRNA expression in 48 cases of gastric cancer tissue, paracancerous tissue and their normal gastric mucosa were detected by using reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR). The relation between FAT10 mRNA expression and clinical pathology were observed. Results FAT10 mRNA were ex- pressed in 37.50% gastric carcinomas,in 10.42% paracancerous tissues and in 8.33% normal mucosa. It had sig- nificant difference(P<0.05).But FAT10 expression was independent of gross type, diameter of tumors, position of tumor occurrence, and level of differentiation(P>0.05).Significant relations were found between the expression of FAT10 mRNA and the type of pathology(P<0.05).Conclusions The expression of FAT10 mRNA is highly up regulated in gastric cancer. It can also be detected in normal mucosa.Expression of FAT10 mRNA is associated with the type of pathology.
