Abstract

Objective To explore the application of serum CA19-9 binding total bilirubin detection in distinguishing benign or malignant of jaundice obstructive.Method Retrospective analysis of 40 patients with obstructive jaundice from2012 January to 2014 January in our hospital.20 cases among them were benign heavier jaundice(benign group),Another 20 cases were malignant obstructive jaundice(malignant group).Compared the serum CA19-9 and total bilirubin levels of two groups before and after treatment.Result After treatment,Benign group CA19-9(30.4±10.3)u/ml,total bilirubin was(58.2±19.2)μmol/L,malignant groupCA19-9(235.3±145.7)u/ml,total bilirubin was(133.8±67.9)μmol/L.Both CA19-9 and total bilirubin levels in benign group were significantly decreased compared with those before treatment(P0.05)while malignant group CA19-9 did not decrease significantly(P0.05),total bilirubin level was significantly decreased(P0.05).Conclusion The patients with obstructive jaundice were identified and the diagnosis of benign and malignant according to the level of serum CA19-9 and total bilirubin in obstructive jaundice before and after the treatment, thus making subsequent treatment options.
