Poetic Quality of Chinese and Poetic Consciousness in Chinese Translation

Poetic quality is the root and gene from which Chinese language is evolved, and Chinese traditional theory of translation glows with poetic conscientiousness and wisdom. Therefore, in Chinese translation, if quipped with poetic consciousness, we may produce a smooth and readable translated text instead of the one which is clause-embedded,functional words clogged, structurally clumsy. And even more significantly, in times of globalization the approach is a way to inherit and safeguard Chinese language. Based on this viewpoint, the paper attempts to explore the source of poetic quality of Chinese language, to expound its relation with Chinese translation theory and practice and to reveal its effect on Chinese translation.
