Abstract
This paper analyzes the construction and the models of Fiber-To-The-Home Access(FTTH) and Fiber-To-The-Building Access(FTTB),describes the technical performance of Ethernet Passive Optical Network(EPON) and Gigabit-capable Passive Optical Networks(GPON),then discusses 10G Ethernet Passive Optical Network(10G EPON),Wavelength Division Multiplexing-Passive Optical Network(WDM-PON),Long Reach(LR-PON),and other new technologies of Fiber Passive Optical Network,and finally proposes the evolution from and specific solution of Fiber-To-The-Building Access(FTTB) and EPON to 10GPON.
