Abstract

Objective To evaluated the modified Majer-Piquet operation. Methods Between July 1996 to May 2008,30 patients with Glottic type carcinoma including T1NoMo in 12 patients;T2NoMo in 12;T3NoMo in 6.Larynx was repaired and new glottis was builded with membrane of thyroid cartilage and 1/3 lateral lamina of thyroid cartilage.Patch autologous cartilage was placed in the position of cricoarytenoid joint after the arytenoid cartilage of affected part was removed. The spare place of postoperative cavum laryngis was reduced. Results All patients have very good three glottic function, breath by mouth and fine phonation, easely extubation. The survival rate of three years was 100%.Conclusions Modified Majer-Piquet operation could restore content laryngeal function. It could avolid maldeglutition and promote the postoperative phonational quality.
