Hermeneutics and the Modern Interpretation of Ancient Chinese Poetics

The proposition of the modern interpretation of ancient poetics,in a broad sense,suggests that no study of ancient poetics in a modern Chinese context is more than a modern interpretation.However,in a narrow sense,it refers to an approach to learn the particular connotation of the interpretation in the realm of comparative literature and comparative poetics.The key point of the modern interpretation of ancient poetics lies in the introduction of Western learning in a changed age,which ensures that supposition.The approach of that interpretation,naturally,is nothing but the study of comparative literature and comparative poetics.This is how we understand and define the quality,object and spectrum of the proposition of the modern interpretation of ancient poetics.The real interpretation,actually,requires a dialogue poetics with an open mind,a far sight,a rich methodology and a solid theory,surpassing the stubborn insistence on whether the Chinese learning or the Western one should be regarded as the fundamental principles in studies.At present stage,the dialogue poetics as such has to be comparative poetics.The application of or reference to Western poetics naturally is to be a precondition of the modern interpretation of ancient Chinese poetics.Hence,the evaluation of Western poetics turns out to be an indispensable component of the realization of the modern interpretation of ancient Chinese poetics.
