Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical effi ciency in interventional embolization for Traumatic carotid-cavernous fistula(TCCF) with detachable balloon. Methods To take the catheter into the common carotid artery with angiography through the femoral artery or the ill-side common carotid artery to diagnose correctly. Then superselective injections using a microcatheter with fistula, the ean supply the fistula for and the purpose of cure is reached. Results All 140 patients, including 126 cases was restored after treatment,14 cases was perfect clearly in symptom and no serious perpetuity complication was observed. The follow-up was carried on from 3 months to 3 years and 15 recurrences were found. Conclusion: Transcatheter interventional embolization is an effective method in treating TCCF. It is possessed of microinvasive, effi ciency and less complication and the fi rst way to treat TCCF.
