Abstract
Application of contact measurement by Coordinate Measuring Machine(CMM) and picking up data of cam profile in reverse engineering of heavy wear cam was introduced. Reconstructing the digital model and locally modifying in Pro/E and finishing NC program in UG realized rapid reverse engineering. Automatic measurement close freeform curve function of WENZEL CMM decreased the workload of picking up data of cam profile.
