Clinical Study of Visual Quality after Implantation of Aspherical Intraocular Lens

Abstract

Objective To estimate the visual quality of patients who were implanted the aspherical intraocular lens (IOL) after cataract phacoemulsification.Methods 60 suitable patients (60 eyes) who received phacoemulsification with IOL implantation were randomly divided into two groups:30 patients (30 eyes) were implanted with acrysof IQ aspherical IOL and 30 patients (30 eyes) were implanted with SN60NT IOL.All patients were examined for best-corrected visual acuity ( BCVA),contrast-sensitivity and aberration examination.Results There was no statistical difference in BCVA between the two groups,while there was a statistical difference in contrast-sensitivity visual acuity and aberration between the two groups.Conclusion Implantation of aspherical IOL can counteract the aberrations of cornea for aged patients,and improve the visual quality after operation.
