Abstract
Objective To study the MRI appearances of the spinal cord multiple sclerosis(MS).Methods Eleven cases of spinal MS were confirmed by clinic underwent MRI examination and the findings were analyzed retrospectively. Results Of the 11 cases with spinal MS,the characteristic MRI showed MS lesion mostly developed in the cervical cords and the plaques showed iso-mild and hypo-intense signals on T1WI image and hyper-intense on T2WI image, and they were located at the lateral or posterior part, the active stage of the nidus of the patients appedred in patchy or marginal forms of enhancement. The effect of glucocorticoidsmight also did some help for the suspected cases. Conclusion Multiple sclerosis of spinal cord has characteristic features on MRI.So it is the most important and sensitive method for diagnosing spinal MS.
