Evaluation on economic security of regional land resources——A case study of Hebei Province

[Objective]Following economic security evaluation of land resources in Hebei Province, the strategies were put forward to ensure economic security of land resources and defuse the constraints of land resources shortage on regional economic growth. [Method]Multi-index comprehensive evaluation method was adopted to evaluate the level of economic security of land resources in Hebei Province, based on the evaluation, corresponding strategies were proposed.[Result]Economic security of land resources in Hebei Province was at the risk level in 2000, basic security level in 2004, and maintained basic security level in 2008 which was further improved. From 2000 to 2008, economic security and sustainable development of land resources in Hebei Province showed upward trend, while quantity security, structural security, efficiency security and prices security showed downward trend. [Suggestion]Five suggestions were concluded as follows: first, overall planning of land utilization should be formulated to strengthen land saving and intensive use of land resources. Second, circular economy mechanism should be established to invigorate the stock land; third, land expropriation compensation system should be reformed to ensure land social security; fourth, urban and rural unified land market should be formed to rationally allocate land resources; and fifth, publicity and education efforts should be strengthened to raise economic security consciousness of land resources. Following the five suggestions, sustainable and healthy development of land resources could be realized in Hebei Province
