Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical effectiveness of warm-group-needle and rehabilitation in the treatment of shoulder dysfunction induced by fracture of the lateral condylar neck. Methods All 68 patients with shoulder dysfunction induced by fracture of the lateral condylar neck were divided randomly into a warm-group-needle and rehabilitation group (n=37) and a rehabilitation group (n=31) from August 2007 to November 2009. The warm-group-needle and rehabilitation group were acupunctured in the rigid part of the wicked shoulder, at the same time using infrared radiation, assistant acupoints were quchi, hegu, yanglingquan; after acupuncture, some shoulder rehabilitation exercise was done. The rehabilitation group did some passive shoulder rehabilitation exercise firstly and then some active shoulder rehabilitation exercise. The treatment was analyzed after 50 days. Results Compared with scores before treatment, there was significant difference in the VAS of the shoulder, function, ROM, and the score of ROM after treament (P0.01). After treatment, compared with the single rehabilitation, the warm-group-needle and rehabilitation was found with significant difference in the VAS of the shoulder, function, ROM, and the score of ROM (P0.01). Conclusion The two treatments can improve the function of the shoulder dysfunction induced by fracture of the lateral condylar neck. Compared with the single rehabilitation treatment, warm-group-needle and rehabilitation is more effective.
