The value of LEEP in diagnosis and treatment of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia

Objective:To study the effectiveness of Loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP) in the diagnosis and management of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia.Methods:One hundred and six cases with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia diagnosed by biopsy were treated by LEEP.Observe the operative time and bleeding volume,cervical biopsy results before and after LEEP were evaluated,margin specimens,complications and the effects and cervical regeneration were followed up.Results:The mean operative time of LEEP was 3-16 minutes.The mean bleeding volume was 5-20ml.Pathological diagnosis of CIN after LEEP accuracy74.53% by colposcopy.The pathological grade went up 5.66%,while grade went down 19.81%.Margin specimens were involved in 5 cases (4.72%).Incidence rate of postoperative syndrome is 3.8%;The cervical rehabilitation rate is 90.57%.Conclusion:LEEP is one of the effective and safe methods for the diagnosis and treatment of CIN.
