Analysis of Characteristics of Meridians and Acupoints Selection on Modern Chinese Acupuncture Treatment of Functional Diarrhea Based on Data Mining

Objective:To analyze the characteristics and rules of meridians and acupoints selection from modern Chinese acupuncture literature on the treatment of functional diarrhea.Methods:Using data mining to investigate the characteristics and rules of meridians and acupoints of the modern Chinese acupuncture literature on therapy of functional diarrhea.Results:35pieces of data were found,including 38 acupoints used 273 times in total,while the acupoints in 29,a total of 254 frequency of eleven meridians.The most frequently used acupuncture points were Tianshu(ST25),Zusanli(ST36),Guanyuan(RN4),Zhongwan(RN12),Shangjuxu(ST37),about 104 times in total.The stomach meridian of foot-Yangming acupoints frequency and number were the most,separately 40.66%(111 /273) and 13.16%(5 /38).The abdomen acupoints frequency and number wre the most,occupies separately 39.56%(108 /273) and 36.84%(14 /38).The special points number and times of76.32%(29 /38) and 93.04%(254 /273) respectively,while the Mu acupoints,five Shu points,crossing points,Lowerhe-sea points and Back-shu acupoints were more frequently used.Conclusion:According the means of data mining,the results reveal that acupoints selection of local and along related meridian are the important principle for modern Chinese acupuncture treatment of functional diarrhea,and the special acupoints are the main part of prescriptions.
