Abstract

Objective To assess the value of computed tomography angiography (CTA) in posterior circulation ischemia vertigo (PCIV). MethodsThe data of digital subtraction angiography (DSA) and CTA in 116 patients with PCIV was analyzed. ResultsOf all 116 cases, six with subclavian artery stenosis, two with anterior circulation vascular disease, the results of CTA were coincident with DSA. The other 108 were detected as having posterior circulation vascular anomalies, of which, 16 with basilar artery stenosis, all were confirmed by CTA and DSA. Based on the results of DSA, the sensitivity of CTA was 95.10% in detecting 184 vertebral arteries in 92 cases, its specificity was 92.68%, Kappa value was 0.878 8. CTA was positively correlated with DSA in the diagnosis of posterior circulation vascular stenosis (r=0.991,P0.001).ConclusionCTA is of great clinical significance in the diagnosis of posterior circulation ischemia vertigo.
