Abstract

Abstract: Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of spiral computed tomography angiography(CTA) in vertebrobasilar artery ischemia vertigo. Methods CTA and intra-arterial digital subtraction angiography(DSA) were performed in 40 patients with vertebrobasilar artery ischemia vertigo diseases. Their diagnostic accuracy were analyzed. Results A strong correlation was found between the degrees of vertebral artery stenosis estimated by DSA and CTA image(r = 0. 826,P0. 001). Also.anatomic variant and kinking were diagnosed accurately by CTA. CTA was more sensitive for determining calcification and ostium of the vertebral artery than DSA. Conclusion CTA enabled accurate evaluation of vertebrobasilar artery. It is an effective and safe examination method for the patients with vertebrobasilar artery ischemia vertigo.
