Abstract
Objective To explore a simple and effective method for epicanthoplasty. Methods Transverse incision were applied in 104 cases for epicanthoplasty, in which simultaneous augmentation rhinoplasty and double eyelid fold were done in 32 cases, 64 cases were incorporated with double eyelid fold, 8 cases were simple epicanthoplasty. Results One month postoperatively, 6 patients occurred redness in the medial canthal incision, 4 patients developed redness in the lower eyelid incision, all of this redness lasting for 1 month and gradually disappeared in about 3 months. 86 cases have followed up for 3~18 months, satisfactory results were obtained. Conclusion The advantages of this procedure are simplicity in design and minimal scarring produced in the medial canthal area.
