Abstract

In both English and Chinese,words have acquired rich cultural connotations.Many words cannot find their equivalents in the other language because English and Chinese come from different language families,and still there are many words,which can find their equivalents,but the cultural connotations of them are not the same.This paper focuses on the non-equivalence relationship between the semantic meanings of the words in both Chinese and English.
