Abstract

Objective: To get a clear understand of the difference in death of acute myocardial infarction (AMI)between men and women,Methods: To analyse the clinical laboratory parameters of 190 male patients and 138 female patients admitted to our hospital for AMI (including their age, sex, ill history, co-exist diseases, serum total cholesterol and serum creatin phosphokinase. Results: In comparison with men, the women were higher in inhospital mortality(17.3% vs 6.8%, .P 0.01) ,older in age of undergoing the disease(69.10 ± 10.00 vs 57.94±11.91years old, P 0.001), longer in hypertension history (47. 82% vs 34.21%,P0.05),higher in serum total cholesterol level(5.73±1.38 vs 5.27± 1.16mmol/L, P0.001) higher in peak of serum creatin phosphorinase (786.34±138.52 vs 648.32±113.8IU/mL P 0.01)higher in incidence of non-Q-wave myocardial infarction (21.74% vs 12.63% ,P 0.05) .There are six variable factors for inpatient death:old age( ≥65 years old), non-Q- ware myocardial infarction, high peak of CPK, shock , malignant arrhythmia and heart failure, Conclusion: The morality of acute myocardial infarction does not interrelate with the sex, but with the age and the extent of infraction.
